i would like to think they were but having work out there it depends who paid the highest bribe as to who buids it!
kendersrule pro 03/07/08 @ 13:50
they're making one that is made up of lots of 'little' moving parts: offices!

Yet another amazingly ambitious construction project has been launched for Dubai. At the Plaza Hotel in New York Dr David Fisher of Dynamic Group showed off the plans for the Dynamic Tower in Dubai. The $700 million project is an 80-story building where each floor rotates so that everyone gets a 360-degree view (the full rotation takes between one and three hours). The tower will have 10 full floor apartments in which the owner can control the rotation. The rest of the floors will include a luxury hotel.

The proposed shape changing tower is something new.

yep it will be interesting. See the comment above the burji tower is now the tallest in the world...for now!!

I have the seen Burj get taller and taller for every visit to Dubai I have made over the last year! It looks extreme in relation to the other tall buildings there.
jackfrost [Member] 03/07/08 @ 14:35
the next one theor planning will be even taller!!

what a place!

we will see if they cut coners on the quality..my brother reckons it will fall down because of crap workmanship.

I had the opportunity to go and work there as an Engineer but they employ slave labour for their site workers- with appalling death rates for site related injuries- it just didn't sit well with my ethics.
jackfrost [Member] 03/07/08 @ 14:46
yeah i agree i nearly did a post regarding the slave labour from the mainly asian community and the conditions they live and sleep in..but i am not sure people would believe it!! my next post is gonna be about other building projects coming up!!
MonkeyPie [Member] 03/07/08 @ 15:52
yeah it's a pretty incredible situation!
I look forward to seeing the next building post

it's about buil;ding that are on there way, i used to find stryctures facinating but i was a diver and dealt with the foundations..well the ones that were under water..it amazed me when engineers woulkd come up with an original drawing from 100 years ago and then without asking me start to work out how things woulkd be attached, for some reason they think that the stucture has not changed at all, often they would only be convinced by a video showing how the base had deteriated due to the water..

cool buildings!
The only one we have in Sweden is the turning torso, but it is not at all as exciting as your pictures of course! ![]()
